Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another larger bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop generous mounds of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For variations, add nuts or substitute dark chocolate chips. Serve with ice cream or as ice cream sandwiches.
