Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour seasoned with love
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda the secret to that perfect rise
  • 1 teaspoon salt to enhance sweetness
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened (the richer the better)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar for sweetness
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar adding that delightful chew
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for that homely aroma
  • 2 large eggs because great cookies start with great eggs
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips the star of the show

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another larger bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop generous mounds of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For variations, add nuts or substitute dark chocolate chips. Serve with ice cream or as ice cream sandwiches.
