  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Mix in some dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually mix the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Using a cookie scoop, place dough balls on prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden brown while the center remains soft.
  3. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
