  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits homemade is great, too!
  • 1 pound ground sausage spicy or mild based on your preference
  • 4 large eggs fresh for optimum flavor
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar works wonderfully
  • 2 cups cream gravy homemade or store-bought
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Cut the biscuits into quarters and arrange them evenly in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  5. Layer the cooked sausage over the biscuits.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and biscuits.
  7. Drizzle the cream gravy on top, followed by a sprinkle of shredded cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden and bubbly.
  2. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

This hearty casserole is great on its own or served with fresh fruit, a light salad, or crispy hash browns. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to four days or freeze for longer storage. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C).
