Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Brown it for nutty depth.
  • 1 cup brown sugar For that lovely caramel note.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar To add sweetness and texture.
  • 2 large eggs Essential for binding.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract A dash of warmth.
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour The base of your cookies.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda To give those cookies rise.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt To balance the sweetness.
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips The star of the show!

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, stirring frequently. Cook until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma, about 5-6 minutes. Be careful not to let it burn.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown butter with both sugars and mix until creamy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  7. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes for the best texture.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of the chilled dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
