  • 2 lbs ground beef You can use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • 1 28 oz bag frozen shoestring fries Can substitute with tater tots for different texture.
  • 1 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 10.5 oz can cheddar cheese soup
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese Consider variations like pepper jack or mozzarella.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, then drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef with cream of mushroom soup and cheddar cheese soup until combined.
  4. Spread half of the frozen fries in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  5. Layer the beef mixture over the fries.
  6. Top with the remaining fries and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden and bubbly.

Notes

This dish is best served hot and can be garnished with diced onions, sliced tomatoes, pickles, or a drizzle of ketchup and mustard. It pairs well with a simple side salad or steamed vegetables. For leftovers, cool completely before storing in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for up to two months.
