  • 1 package flour tortillas corn tortillas can also work
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese substitute with Monterey Jack for a creamier flavor
  • 1 cup cooked ground beef or turkey use black beans for a healthy option
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or make your own with cumin, chili powder, and garlic powder
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes roma or cherry tomatoes work well
  • ½ cup diced onions green onions add a fresh twist
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce for topping
  • 1 tablespoon cooking spray or melted butter for that golden crisp

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook your ground beef or turkey until browned. Drain the excess fat and add the taco seasoning, stirring until evenly coated.
  3. Add diced tomatoes and onions, letting them simmer together for about 2 minutes.
  4. On a clean surface or cutting board, lay a flour tortilla flat. Spoon a few tablespoons of the meat mixture down the center and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  5. Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling and roll it up tightly from the bottom.
  6. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  7. Place the rolled tortillas seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray or brush with melted butter.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown, turning halfway through for even cooking.
  2. Let them cool slightly, cut them into sticks, and serve warm with shredded lettuce and salsa for dipping.
