Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Margarine can be used as a substitute
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Dark chocolate can be used for a richer flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Serving

Notes
