  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Can substitute with margarine or plant-based alternatives.
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar Light or dark works!
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Consider using dark chocolate for a richer flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft.
  3. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze dough for up to 3 months.
