Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and light, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently with a spatula.
Baking
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers still appear soft.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze in a single layer wrapped in plastic for up to 3 months. Reheat briefly in the microwave to maintain texture.
