Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set it aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center looks soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
You can substitute chocolate chips for dark chocolate or add nuts. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze dough for up to three months.
