Ingredients

For the Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Feel free to use a mix of butter and coconut oil for a slight twist!
  • 1 cup brown sugar This adds a rich depth of flavor.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar For that extra sweetness.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract Pure vanilla makes a world of difference.
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips Or use dark chocolate for an indulgent experience.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until everything is well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined to avoid overworking the dough.
  6. Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are still soft (they’ll continue to set as they cool).
  2. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
