  • 2 large eggs Binds ingredients together.
Mix-ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use semi-sweet, dark, or milk chocolate.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes with an electric mixer.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing just until combined to avoid tough cookies.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips;
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For a thicker cookie, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. You can also experiment with different types of chocolate chips or add nuts for texture.
