  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls can also use homemade rolls
  • 4 large eggs large eggs are preferred
  • 1 cup milk can use whole or low-fat milk
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup adds sweetness and flavor
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for topping
  • optional additional frosting from cinnamon roll cans

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Cut the cinnamon roll pieces into quarters and place them in the baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the cinnamon rolls, gently mixing to ensure all pieces are coated.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden brown.
  2. Remove from oven and top with frosting from the cinnamon roll cans and powdered sugar, if desired.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious breakfast!

Notes

For best results, let the egg mixture coat the pieces without making them mushy. Test for doneness by ensuring the center is set and slightly springy. Pair with fresh fruit or yogurt for serving.
