  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed, preferably store-bought) For easy preparation.
  • 4 oz smoked salmon Can be substituted with cooked shrimp.
  • 4 oz feta cheese (crumbled) Consider using goat cheese for a creamier taste.
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika Feel free to modify with sweet paprika for less heat.
  • 1 egg beaten Used for egg wash.
  • to taste fresh dill or chives For garnish; can swap with parsley.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into 2-inch squares.
  3. In a bowl, combine crumbled feta, smoked salmon, and smoked paprika. Stir until well mixed.
Assembly
  1. Place a teaspoon of the filling in the center of each pastry square.
  2. Fold the corners over the filling to create a pocket, pinch to seal, and brush the tops with beaten egg.
Baking
  1. Arrange the bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.
Garnishing and Serving
  1. Once baked, let them cool for a few minutes and sprinkle with fresh dill or chives before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes. Freeze individually wrapped before placing in a freezer-safe container.
