  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For a warm, aromatic touch.
  • to taste Sea salt To sprinkle on top for contrast.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the mixed nuts on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 8-10 minutes until golden and fragrant, stirring halfway through to avoid burning.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the toasted nuts, chopped dates, dark chocolate chips, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix everything until well combined; it should begin to clump together.
  4. Line a small baking dish with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal later. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the dish, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
  5. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour to help the bars firm up.
  7. Once set, lift the bars out using the overhanging parchment paper and cut into squares or rectangles.
