  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are soft.
  2. Allow cooling on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Serve slightly warm for melty chips. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4-5 days. For longer storage, freeze cookies in a sealed freezer bag for up to 3 months; thaw at room temperature. Adding a slice of bread to the container keeps them soft.
