Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a medium skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of oil and cook the diced onion until translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Sprinkle in salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Cook until browned and no pink remains, about 6–8 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce, cooking just 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Unroll the crescent dough or lay out puff pastry and divide into 6–8 rectangles.
- Place a spoonful of the beef mixture along each piece and top with a generous slice of cheese. Roll up tightly, sealing the edges.
- Arrange the rollups seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Baking
- In a small bowl, whisk melted butter with garlic powder and chopped parsley. Brush each rollup generously with the garlic butter.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and deep golden and the cheese is melted.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a healthier option, choose whole-wheat pastry or low-fat cheese. To store leftovers, keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze unbaked rollups for up to 2 months.
