Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Let that oven warm up while you whisk.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until fluffy and light.
- Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
- Gradually fold in the flour mixture until just combined.
- Gently stir in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Scoop a generous portion of dough (about 1/3 cup) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Press down gently to flatten slightly.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set but soft.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Feel free to experiment by swapping semi-sweet chocolate with dark chocolate for a richer taste. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
