Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Bars
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Can use semisweet, milk, or chunks

Method
 

Preparing the Batter
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking the Bars
  1. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

For maximum gooeyness, serve warm. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or up to 5 days in the refrigerator. Freeze individual bars for up to 2 months.
