Ingredients

For the Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (can use coconut oil for a dairy-free option) Butter should be softened and not melted.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed For deep flavor and moist texture.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar For sweetness and crunch.
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature for better mixing.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract Pure vanilla for the best taste.
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute half with whole wheat for a healthier twist.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Helps the cookies rise perfectly.
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt Balances the sweetness.
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Or try dark chocolate for a richer flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract until everything is well blended.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop generous amounts of dough onto lined baking sheets, leaving space between each mound.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are slightly soft.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For added variety, incorporate chopped nuts, replace butter with mashed bananas for a healthier option, or even stuff cookies with chocolate chunks.
