Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 2 pieces chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For the Wraps
  • 4 large pita or flatbreads
  • 1 cup lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup cucumber, sliced
  • ½ cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup tzatziki sauce (store-bought or homemade) Consider making your own for a fresh taste.

Method

Marinate the Chicken
  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts and coat them well. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes (or a few hours if you have time).
Cook the Chicken
  1. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from heat and allow to rest for a few minutes.
Slice the Chicken
  1. Once the chicken is cool enough to handle, slice it into thin strips.
Warm the Pita
  1. Briefly heat the pita or flatbreads on the grill pan for about 1 minute on each side or until warm and pliable.
Assemble the Wraps
  1. Lay out the warm pita on a plate. Start by adding the lettuce, followed by tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and then the sliced chicken. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce and fold the pita to enclose the filling.
Serve
  1. Place the wraps on a serving platter, and enjoy them while warm!

Notes

Feel free to customize your wraps; swap spinach for kale or add feta cheese for a classic Greek touch. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat on a grill pan for best texture.
