Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend) Use low-moisture cheese for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon butter For cooking and added flavor.
Optional Fillings
  • salsa For serving.
  • avocado For serving.
  • any other preferred fillings

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Place a tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle a generous amount of cheese over half of the tortilla.
  3. Add any additional fillings if desired.
  4. Fold the tortilla over to cover the cheese and cook until the bottom is golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Flip the burrito and add butter to the pan, cooking until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted, another 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, slice, and serve with salsa or avocado if desired.

Notes

Keep fillings minimal and dry to avoid a soggy interior. Reheat leftovers in a skillet for the best texture.
