Ingredients

For the Pinwheels
  • 1 large tortilla or wrap Flour or whole wheat works beautifully.
  • 6-8 slices deli ham A classic choice; can swap with turkey or roast beef.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or Swiss melts wonderfully; try pepper jack for spice.
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese Plain or flavored for extra zing.
  • to taste garlic powder and pepper Add herbs like dill or oregano for more flavor.
  • optional fresh spinach or leafy greens A great way to sneak in some veggies.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Spread a generous layer of cream cheese over the entire surface of the tortilla.
  3. Layer the slices of ham evenly across the cream cheese layer, followed by the shredded cheese.
  4. Sprinkle garlic powder and pepper on top for flavor; add fresh spinach if desired.
  5. Roll the tortilla tightly into a log shape, careful not to spill out filling.
  6. Slice the rolled tortilla into 1-inch thick pinwheels and place them cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes until the cheese is gooey and the tortilla edges are golden brown.
  8. Let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To freeze, store before baking and bake directly from the freezer when ready.
