Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking dish by lightly greasing it.
- In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with ground cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Spread them evenly in the prepared baking dish.
Topping Preparation
- In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, almond flour, chopped nuts, and a pinch of salt.
- Pour in the melted coconut oil and honey or maple syrup, mixing until the dry ingredients are well-coated and crumbly.
Baking
- Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples, making sure to cover them evenly.
- Bake for about 30 minutes, until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown and crispy.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy it warm, perhaps with a dollop of yogurt or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Feel free to add dried cranberries or raisins for extra flavor, or swap some of the apples for pears for a different texture. Add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger for a bit of a kick! It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to five days.
