Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey with chopped onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
Assembly
- Start layering in a baking dish: spread a layer of meat sauce, then add a layer of noodles, followed by a layer of the ricotta mixture, then mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers ending with meat sauce and mozzarella cheese on top.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top of the last layer.
Baking
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it sit for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave or bake at 350°F (175°C) until heated through. For freezing, wrap tightly and thaw overnight before reheating.
