Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Pound to an even thickness for uniform cooking.
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup pure honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce Can substitute with regular soy sauce.
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar Adjust sweetness or acidity as desired.
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped For garnish; can also add to dish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and sesame oil until combined.
  3. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Place in the prepared baking dish and pour the honey garlic sauce over the top.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  2. Let rest for a few minutes before slicing and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve over rice or alongside vegetables.

Notes

For extra flavor, finish dishes with toasted sesame seeds. If you prefer a thicker glaze, simmer the sauce on the stovetop after baking until reduced before pouring back over the chicken.
