Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Unroll your thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Use a rolling pin to gently roll it out to a larger rectangle, if desired.
- In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, and salt until combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Assembly
- Cut the pastry into long strips—around 1 inch wide.
- Take a tablespoon of the cheese mixture and place it in the center of each strip. Fold the pastry over the filling and twist it to create a spiral shape.
- Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush them generously with the beaten egg.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until twists are puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool for a minute or two before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
