  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar Adjust according to sweetness preference.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil For cooking.
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated Use fresh grated ginger.
  • 1-2 teaspoons red pepper flakes Adjust to taste for spice level.
  • 4 servings cooked rice For serving.
  • 4 tablespoons green onions, sliced For garnish.

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the mixture is well combined.
  6. Serve over cooked rice and garnish with sliced green onions.

  1. Spoon the hot beef mixture over bowls of steamed white or brown rice.
  2. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
