  • 2 lb frozen pierogies, thawed Classic potato and cheese pierogies work best.
  • Oil for frying Oil for frying Use enough oil to shallow fry the pierogies.
For the Meat Filling
  • 1 lb ground meat (beef, chicken, pork, or meat alternative) Choose your preferred meat or a flavorful meat alternative.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the ground meat.
  • to taste Taco seasoning Adjust based on heat preference.
For Assembling
  • 1 Jalapeño cheese sauce Warm slightly before drizzling.
  • Toppings (sour cream, green onions, jalapeños, or other toppings of choice) Customize according to preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large frying pan, heat oil over medium heat.
  2. Cook the thawed pierogies in the hot oil until they are crispy and golden brown, about 4-5 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside on paper towels.
Cooking the Meat
  1. In the same pan, add olive oil and cook the ground meat until browned.
  2. Add taco seasoning and cook according to package instructions.
Assembly
  1. On a serving platter, layer the crispy pierogies with the seasoned ground meat.
  2. Drizzle jalapeño cheese sauce over the top.
  3. Add your favorite toppings such as sour cream, green onions, and jalapeños.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Leftovers are best stored deconstructed: keep fried pierogies, cooked meat, and sauce in separate airtight containers. Reheat pierogies in a skillet or oven to restore crispness; rewarm meat and sauce gently. Assemble again before serving.
