  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Provides beautiful melt and stretch.
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (about 1 ounce) Homemade is a great alternative.
  • 6 strips bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled Turkey bacon is an option for a lighter choice.
  • 2 pieces green onions, thinly sliced Scallions or chives can be used.
  • 1/2 cup crushed buttery crackers or panko Creates a crunchy topping.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Optional for a smoky flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a shallow 9-inch baking dish or small cast-iron skillet.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and airy. Stir in the sour cream until creamy.
  3. Add the ranch seasoning, shredded cheddar, and half the mozzarella. Fold until evenly combined.
  4. Transfer to the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the top, then scatter the crumbled bacon and sliced green onions.
  6. Press the crushed crackers or panko onto the surface and dust with smoked paprika.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until bubbling at the edges and golden brown on top.
  2. Let the dip rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, replace bacon with smoked tempeh or mushrooms. Use GF crackers or crushed nuts for a gluten-free version.
