Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- In another bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and nutmeg. Mix until smooth.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
Layering
- Dip each ladyfinger in eggnog briefly and layer them in a serving dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Chilling
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
Notes
For best texture, avoid longer storage as ladyfingers will continue to soften. Can freeze portions for up to 1 month; thaw in the fridge overnight before serving.
