Method
Preparation of Orzo
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the orzo and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Searing the Salmon
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper.
- Place the salmon skin-side down in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes, until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
Finishing the Salmon
- Flip the salmon and add butter, minced garlic, and lemon juice to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, spooning the melted butter over the salmon as it cooks.
Combining with Orzo
- Add the cooked orzo to the skillet with the salmon. Toss gently to combine with the remaining juice and flavors. If desired, add lemon zest for added flavor.
Serving
- Plate the orzo and top with salmon. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm gently in the microwave or stovetop, adding a splash of water if necessary.
