Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil, add the quartered turnips, and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.
- Drain the turnips completely and return them to the pot. Mash them lightly; they should still have some texture.
- Stir in the melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Baking
- Transfer the mashed turnips to a greased baking dish. Top with the grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. For a crispy topping, broil the dish for the last two minutes of cooking.
