Batter

  • 1/2 cup Butter, melted Adds richness and flavor.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the peaches by peeling and slicing them, then toss with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.
  3. In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
  4. Incorporate milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract into the dry ingredients, stirring until combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spoon the peaches evenly over the batter.
  3. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Serving
  1. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving warm, possibly with vanilla ice cream.
