  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or canned peaches in syrup) If peaches are not in season, feel free to use frozen or canned peaches. Drain excess syrup.
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon for a hint of warmth
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar optional, for extra sweetness
  • 1 pinch salt
Optional Additions
  • nuts or oats for extra texture

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while you prepare your ingredients.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches with cinnamon, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Spread this mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.
Topping
  1. In another bowl, pour in the yellow cake mix evenly over the peaches, spreading it out with your hands for an even layer.
  2. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach juices are bubbly.
  2. Allow it to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes.
