Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound sausage (breakfast or Italian) Choose based on preference.
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to mix in your favorite meltable cheese.
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits The flaky kind works beautifully.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Optional: chopped green onions or bell peppers For added flavor and color.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until it’s browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk, adding a pinch of salt and pepper for seasoning.
  4. In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, place the biscuit pieces evenly at the bottom. Spread the cooked sausage over the biscuits, followed by half of the shredded cheese.
  5. Gentle pour the egg and milk mixture over the layers, ensuring it seeps down to the bottom. Top it off with the remaining cheese.
Baking
  1. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. The casserole should puff up beautifully, and a toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
