Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until it’s browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk, adding a pinch of salt and pepper for seasoning.
- In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, place the biscuit pieces evenly at the bottom. Spread the cooked sausage over the biscuits, followed by half of the shredded cheese.
- Gentle pour the egg and milk mixture over the layers, ensuring it seeps down to the bottom. Top it off with the remaining cheese.
Baking
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. The casserole should puff up beautifully, and a toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
Notes
This casserole can be prepped the night before or in the morning. Serve alongside fresh fruit or a light salad for a balanced meal. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
