Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped cherries.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
Baking
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature. Place a slice of bread in the container to help keep them soft. Can be refrigerated for up to 1 week or frozen for up to 3 months.
