Ingredients
  

For the Peach Filling
  • 6 cups Fresh Peaches, peeled and sliced Use more for an extra fruity burst
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar Can substitute with brown sugar for a deeper caramel note
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon For warmth
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg To add depth
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice For brightness
For the Topping
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder To help the topping rise
  • 1 cup Milk Or almond milk or any non-dairy alternative
  • 1/2 cup Butter, melted Adds richness
  • a pinch Salt To balance the sweetness

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Let them sit for about 10 minutes.
Making the Topping
  1. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, milk, melted butter, and salt until combined. The batter will be lumpy.
Baking
  1. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spoon the batter over the peaches gently.
  3. Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
  4. Allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Freezes well for up to two months.
