Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- If using fresh peaches, peel, slice, and toss them in 1/2 cup of sugar and let sit for about 10 minutes. If using canned peaches, simply drain them.
Making the Batter
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Slowly whisk in the milk and melted butter until the mixture is smooth and slightly thick but pourable.
Assembly and Baking
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and spoon the peaches (along with their juices) on top. Do not stir.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cobbler to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Leftover cobbler can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven at 350°F until warmed through.
