Main Ingredients
  • 1 bunch Garlic scapes, trimmed and cut into 2-3 inch pieces Choose bright green and firm scapes for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil, for sautéing Can be substituted with sesame oil for a nuttier flavor.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Add more if you really love garlic!
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce, for added flavor Adjust quantity to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds, for garnish Adds a crunchy texture.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes, optional For a spicy kick.
  • To taste Salt and pepper Season to your preference.

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the minced garlic, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant and lightly golden. Be cautious not to burn it.
  3. Toss in the garlic scapes and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
  4. Drizzle the soy sauce over the scapes and add the red pepper flakes if using. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle sesame seeds on top for an added crunch and garnished presentation.
  6. Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy warm.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat gently.
