Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time and stir in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven until soft in the center and lightly browned on the edges.
- Allow to cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For a softer cookie, do not overbake. Store cookies in an airtight container. To keep them soft, place a slice of bread in the container.
