- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, grated ginger (if using), salt, and pepper until well combined.
Marinating the Salmon
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure that each fillet is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Grilling
- Heat your grill to medium-high heat, ensuring it’s well-oiled to prevent sticking.
- Place the marinated salmon on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it flakes easily with a fork and has nice grill marks.
Serving
- Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes for the flavors to settle.
Notes
Feel free to swap the soy sauce for tamari for a gluten-free option or use maple syrup instead of honey for a plant-based alternative. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freeze sealed fillets in plastic wrap and then in foil; thaw completely before reheating.
