  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup Or cream of chicken.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Use your favorite type.
  • 1 bag (32 oz) tater tots
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables Personalize with your family's favorites.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Optional: chopped onions, garlic powder, or any spices you prefer

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground meat until browned and crumbled. If using onions or garlic, add them during the last few minutes of cooking for extra flavor.
  3. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the cream of mushroom soup and the frozen mixed vegetables. Season with salt and pepper to taste and add your choice of spices for depth.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with an even layer of tater tots, arranging them for maximum coverage.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the tater tots.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  2. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

This casserole is delightful on its own but can be paired with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables for a balanced meal. It can also be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days, or frozen for later use.
