Ingredients
  

Dry ingredients
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
Wet ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure butter is at room temperature.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
Add-ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate) Feel free to swap for M&Ms or nuts.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract until just combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Using a cookie scoop, drop rounds of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centers are still soft.
  3. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can be frozen for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for about 15 seconds.
