Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Bring to room temperature
  • 2 large eggs Bring to room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For Dusting
  • to taste Powdered sugar For dusting before serving

Method
 

Preparation and Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve these cookies on a holiday platter dusted again with powdered sugar just before presenting. They pair well with espresso, sweet wine, or a pot of tea and are ideal for gift exchanges.
