Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground turkey sausage Can substitute with chicken sausage.
  • 30 oz frozen hash browns Thawed before use.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Alternatively, use pepper jack cheese for a kick.
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Optional: diced onions, bell peppers, or spinach For added flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey sausage, breaking it apart as it browns until it’s fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, thawed hash browns, and half of the cheddar cheese. Mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until fully combined. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and hash brown mixture, stirring gently to combine everything.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, until the casserole is set and golden brown on top.
  2. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. The casserole can also be frozen for longer storage; wrap it tightly in foil or place it in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through, or microwave individual portions for a quicker option.
