Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey sausage, breaking it apart as it browns until it’s fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes).
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, thawed hash browns, and half of the cheddar cheese. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until fully combined. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and hash brown mixture, stirring gently to combine everything.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
Cooking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, until the casserole is set and golden brown on top.
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. The casserole can also be frozen for longer storage; wrap it tightly in foil or place it in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through, or microwave individual portions for a quicker option.
